" Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one." Dr. Seuss
Today's session was really engaging for my student and I. I ended up creating a new game called "Hello and Goodbye". The game is used to help him read and identify some of the vocabulary words that he is learning in the books that we are reading and as
well as the dolch list. He thought the game was kind of silly but ended up being a trooper in the end. We were able to accomplish many things today such as reading, writing, matching words, answer questions from the books that we read and coloring. By the end of class, he said that he was tired. Sessions are getting easier and better. I can see a great improvement in my student.

I loved your activity, Hello, Goodbye! What a cool way to teach word recognition and it can be used anytime you need to teach new words. I enjoyed watching you work with Josh. He seemed to be enjoying working with you.
ReplyDeleteWe should take some time out next session to firm up some of the plans for the parent presentation night. I think we really need to put some focus on the reading strategies. Thank goodness we've decided on a theme. That just makes it all so much easier to plan the event. How do you want me to use my Cricut to make the decorations? We can do giant letters, and so we can have an awesome banner going. I am thinking of cutting out crayons from foam core boards, one for the six primary/secondary colors and black and brown. What do you think? or we can just cut it out of butcher paper but foam core is nicer. I can volunteer to do that (I think). Let me know.
thank you for the worksheets. i'm sure they'll be used in the near future. i appreciate everything you say and write
